Shiny Cyndaquil, evolution chart, 100% perfect IV stats and Typhlosion best moveset in Pokémon Go

The beloved Cyndaquil, known as the Fire Mouse Pokémon, is making its return in June through Pokémon Go’s Community Day Classic. This event, which celebrates a specific Pokémon, brings back Cyndaquil for trainers to engage and enjoy once again! As with all Community Day events, players can expect a range of fun bonuses, including increased shiny encounter rates and the chance to teach Typhlosion, Cyndaquil’s final evolution, an exclusive move!

Being a starter Pokémon, Cyndaquil is generally hard to find in Pokémon Go outside of special events, making this an excellent opportunity to add its evolutions to your Pokédex. This is particularly valuable for those who missed the initial Community Day back in 2018 and are hoping to secure a Typhlosion that knows the powerful move Blast Burn.

While Typhlosion remains a decent choice in Pokémon Go, it’s not the top option among mono-Fire-type Pokémon within the Go Battle League. However, this Community Day Classic offers you the chance to acquire a perfect shiny version of Typhlosion if you haven’t gotten one yet!

Even for those who aren’t particularly drawn to Cyndaquil, seizing the opportunity to catch as many Pokémon as possible during the Community Day Classic is advisable. The event features double XP for catches and double Stardust, enhancing your overall gameplay experience.

Perfect IVs: A Trainer’s Dream

This month’s Community Day Classic is the perfect occasion to capture a Cyndaquil with impeccable individual values (IVs). In Pokémon Go, “perfect” can refer to a maxed-out version at 100% IV, typically referred to as a 15/15/15. For Trainers aiming for optimal performance in raids and the Master League, this is what you need.

However, you won’t know a Pokémon’s IVs until you successfully catch it. Prior research can help, as you can estimate a Cyndaquil’s potential IVs based on its Combat Power (CP).

If you’re at or above Level 30, refer to the following wild CPs for a perfect Cyndaquil (15/15/15):

  • Level 30 (maximum wild CP) – 840 CP
  • Level 35 (weather-boosted maximum wild CP) – 910 CP

These CP values align with Trainer Levels until Level 30, so they might vary for below-Level-30 trainers.

Evolution Path of Cyndaquil

Cyndaquil has a fascinating evolutionary path, evolving into Quilava and then into Typhlosion. The evolution theme emphasizes its growth into a larger, flame-filled creature—though the logic behind its design may raise questions. To evolve Cyndaquil into Quilava, you’ll need 25 Cyndaquil Candies; for further evolution into Typhlosion, collect 100 more.

Moreover, there’s a unique branching evolution—Hisuian Typhlosion, a regional variant from the Hisui region, which can only be obtained from Raid battles, so keep that in mind during the Community Day.

Movesets and Strategy

Typhlosion’s recommended moveset includes Incinerate, Blast Burn, and Thunder Punch. Here are its complete moves:

Fast Moves:

  • Incinerate (Fire)
  • Shadow Claw (Ghost)
  • Ember (Fire)

Charged Moves:

  • Thunder Punch (Electric)
  • Solar Beam (Grass)
  • Overheat (Fire)
  • Fire Blast (Fire)

Legacy Charged Moves:

  • Blast Burn (Fire)
  • Return (Normal)

This highlights that Blast Burn, Typhlosion’s best move, is available during the Community Day Classic. While Typhlosion and its counterpart Shadow Typhlosion are competitive, they trail behind top-tier Fire-types like Talonflame and Charizard. If you lack those options for the Great and Ultra Leagues, pursuing a perfect Cyndaquil may be worthwhile.

Shiny Variants and Bonuses

The shiny variant of Cyndaquil, which debuted during its original Community Day in November 2018, is accessible at boosted rates during this event. Every Cyndaquil you encounter has the potential to be shiny, so make sure to engage with as many as you can!

Here’s how the shiny versions differ:

  • Shiny Cyndaquil changes its typical teal shade for a rusty brown hue but doesn’t look as appealing as its regular counterpart.

In addition to the shiny excitement, here are the bonuses associated with Cyndaquil’s Community Day:

  • Increased spawns and shiny rates
  • Double catch XP and Stardust
  • Extended durations for Incense and Lures
  • Special Research tasks for additional rewards
  • Exclusive move for Typhlosion when evolved during the event

With the Cyndaquil Community Day Classic running from 2 PM to 5 PM (local time), players have a limited three-hour window to catch these fire-filled creatures and maximize their item gains! Don’t forget that using a Mega Evolved Fire-type Pokémon can earn you an extra Cyndaquil Candy per catch, further enhancing your collection efforts.

May luck be on your side as you set out to capture the perfect Cyndaquil!
