All Regions in order
HoYoverse has officially announced the release order of regions for Genshin Impact in the Teyvat Chapter Storyline Preview: Travail video.
Below, we have provided the release order for each region, along with their corresponding elements and additional information regarding the areas.
Mondstadt – Prologue (Anemo)
In Genshin Impact, the Traveler’s journey starts in the region of Mondstadt. The inhabitants of this nation pay homage to the Anemo Archon, who is called Lord Barbatos.
In order to explore the entire region without restrictions, one must first complete the Archon Prologue quest titled The Outlander Who Caught the Wind. The Mondstadt region is known for its lush greenery, featuring a landscape filled with valleys and highlands. Additionally, it includes Dragonspine, a snow-capped mountain situated in the southern area.
Liyue – Act 1 (Geo)
Liyue, a region inspired by Chinese traditions, can be accessed by players following the completion of The Outlander Who Caught the Wind quest. This area is associated with the Geo element, and its archon is Zhongli.
Numerous sites within Liyue draw direct inspiration from actual geographical locations, exemplified by the Tianman Cave, which is modeled after Tianmen Mountain found in Zhangjiajie.
Inazuma – Act 2 (Electro)
Inzauma is a territory situated adjacent to the Dark Sea. The inhabitants of this area revere the Electro archon, known as Raiden Shogun. Throughout the region, players will encounter numerous Electro-based mechanics, such as electrified water, which can rapidly diminish their health points.
This content becomes available following the completion of The Outlander Who Caught the Wind quest. The region of Inazuma consists of various subareas in the form of islands, each showcasing unique environments such as cities, villages, shrines, mountains, and temples.
Sumeru – Act 3 (Dendro)
Sumeru is acknowledged as the focal point of scholarly pursuits in Teyvat. The people of Sumeru venerate the Dendro archon, Lesser Lord Kusanali. This large nation features a diverse landscape that includes both flourishing rainforests and dry desert areas.
Players can unlock access to the region by completing The Outlander Who Caught the Wind quest, which enables them to enter the Dharma Forest through The Chasm found in Liyue.
This territory is remarkable, celebrated for its lush greenery contrasted with the desolate expanses of the Great Red Sand.
Fontaine – Act 4 (Hydro)
Fontaine is a region within Genshin Impact renowned for its cultural and artistic significance in Teyvat. This area is linked to the Hydro element and is enveloped by bodies of water.
The release of version 4.0 introduced new swimming and diving mechanics to Genshin Impact in this region. Fontaine is characterized by numerous underwater areas to explore, and players are able to engage in combat while underwater.
Fontaine will be unlocked following the completion of The Outlander Who Caught the Wind quest. Players can navigate to this location using Teleport Waypoints in the Realm of Farakhkert, Sumeru, and Marcotte Station.
Natlan – Act 5 (Pyro)
The upcoming region to be introduced in Genshin Impact is Natlan, which is scheduled to launch with the 5.0 update.
This nation honors the Pyro Archon and is positioned across from Sumeru’s Great Red Sand. Currently, there is little information about Natlan; nonetheless, the ‘A Name Forged in Flames’ trailer hints at the introduction of several new characters.
Snezhnaya – Act 6 (Cryo)
It has been officially announced that Act 6 of the Archon quest will be situated in the Snezhnaya region. The inhabitants of Snezhnaya are devoted to the Cyro archon. This location is characterized by ongoing winter storms, with Nahida previously stating that blizzards can last for extended periods, sometimes months. Furthermore, Snezhnaya is considerably more advanced in technology than other regions throughout Teyvat.
Presently, there is no information available regarding when the Snezhnaya region will be incorporated into the game.
Khaenri’ah – TBC (TBC)
Khaneri’ah is a territory that lies outside of Teyvat in Genshin Impact; however, an archon quest, which has yet to be officially confirmed, is expected to occur in this region.
According to the information provided by Kaeya, Khaneri’ah is thought to be found deep underground near Sumeru. It is most famously acknowledged for its connection to The Cataclysm, an event that unfolded 500 years before the storyline of Genshin Impact.
The creation of the monsters can be attributed to an alchemist named Rhinedottir. They spilled forth from their land to invade Teyvat. Eventually, the region faced destruction at the hands of Celestia and the gods.
After the calamity, the pure-blooded Khaenri’ahns found themselves cursed with everlasting life, while the rest of the population morphed into monstrous entities.
