Barbara, the beloved idol of Mondstadt, is a character in Genshin Impact that players can obtain without spending any currency. Upon completing certain quests in the first Archon Quest, players will receive Barbara as a reward. As a healer, Barbara seamlessly integrates into various team compositions in Genshin Impact, making her a valuable addition to any player’s roster.
While Barbara is a flexible addition to any team, she truly thrives in the role of a support. She excels as a buffer for Hydro DPS and can utilize her skills as a Catalyst wielder to effectively enhance her team’s performance with a 3-star Genshin Impact weapon.
Tartaglia + Beidou + Kazuha + Barbara
Childe and Beidou are widely known for their Fireworks team composition. Together, they make an incredible combo that easily spreads Electro-charged reactions all over the battlefield. Introducing Kazuha will spice things up by giving Childe a decent Hydro buff. Kazuha will also effectively control enemies and gather them all in one place to maximize Tartaglia’s AoE damage. If the Samurai equips 4-Viridescent Venerer, he will also decrease the enemies’ Hydro RES by 40%.
Barbara will function exclusively as a Support in this team setup. She will utilize her Elemental Skill to heal Tartaglia, and her C2 will enhance his Hydro DMG by 15%. Equipping Barbara with Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers, due to her Catalyst user nature and HP requirement for healing, will boost Childe’s ATK by 48%, enhancing her Support capabilities in this team configuration.
Team Roles
- Childe: Main DPS, Hydro enabler
- Beidou: Shielder, Electro-charged trigger
- Kazuha: CC, Sub-DPS, buffer, Swirl trigger, debuffer
- Barbara: Healer, buffer
Xiao + Zhongli + Raiden Shogun + Barbara
Anemo is characterized as a supportive Element that can effectively lower the enemy’s resistance to Hydro, Electro, Pyro, and Cryo. Nevertheless, since Xiao is the primary damage dealer, it is crucial to have a character who can decrease the enemy’s Anemo resistance. This is where Zhongli becomes essential. The Jade Shield from the Geo Archon not only enables Xiao to execute Plunge attacks without being interrupted but also reduces the opponent’s resistance to all forms of damage. In addition, the Electro Archon’s role in this team composition is to act as a battery for Xiao and to enhance his Swirls. She is considered one of the best batteries in Genshin Impact, ensuring that Xiao’s Elemental Burst remains active continuously.
Barbara’s ability to buff Xiao is not as strong as her ability to buff Tartaglia. However, Xiao requires a healer due to his low HP even when inside Zhongli’s shield. Therefore, having Barbara with the Dragon Slayer Catalyst is an ideal addition to his team.
Team Roles
- Xiao: Main DPS
- Zhongli: Shielder, buffer, debuffer
- Raiden Shogun: Sub-DPS, battery, Electro enabler
- Barbara: Healer, buffer
Hu Tao + Yelan + Kazuha + Barbara
In Genshin Impact, the duo of Hu Tao and either Yelan or Xingqiu is considered one of the premier pairings. Yelan’s ability to apply Hydro allows Hu Tao to trigger Vaporize multiple times, thus amplifying the damage of her Charged Attacks. To mitigate Hu Tao’s shortcomings in area damage, Kazuha is a superb choice for this team composition. His Elemental Skill can pull enemies together, while his Anemo capabilities lower the damage they deal with Hydro and Pyro.
Barbara’s role in this team composition is to act as Hu Tao’s emergency support. Hu Tao needs to maintain her HP below 50% to maximize her Pyro damage, and her Elemental Skill continuously drains her HP, making her vulnerable to enemy attacks. Without the protection of Xingqiu or Zhongli, the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor Director is constantly at risk of being defeated. Barbara’s Elemental Burst provides a reliable means of saving Hu Tao in critical situations. Additionally, with her sixth Constellation unlocked, Barbara can even revive Hu Tao if she falls in battle.
Team Roles
- Hu Tao: Main DPS, Vaporize trigger
- Yelan: Sub-DPS, buffer, Hydro enabler
- Kazuha: CC, Sub-DPS, buffer, Swirl trigger, debuffer
- Barbara: Healer, Hydro enabler, reviver
Barbara + Raiden Shogun + Ganyu + Venti
In the past, there was a meme circulating that depicted Barbara defeating Oceanid alone using Physical damage. At the time, this seemed absurd due to various limitations. However, with the introduction of Ocean-Hued Clam, players can now effectively utilize Barbara as a Physical damage dealer. While this may not align with the current meta, it is an excellent option for those who wish to focus on Barbara. This approach does not require exceptional artifacts or significant buffs from characters like Sucrose or Bennett. Instead, all that is necessary is Superconduct and 4-Ocean-Hued Clam. The passive effect of the artifacts will generate a small bubble near Barbara each time she heals, which will burst every three seconds, causing Physical damage to nearby enemies.
To accomplish this, Barbara requires a team that includes at least one Cryo and one Electro character. It is obvious that Raiden Shogun and Ganyu are the most effective choices, as both can consistently apply Electro and Cryo effects for long durations. In addition, Venti’s capability to keep enemies close significantly accelerates the activation of Superconduct through his Elemental Burst.
After activating Raiden Shogun’s Elemental Skill and Ganyu’s Elemental Burst, Venti proceeds to release his diminished Burst, setting the stage for Barbara’s performance. Utilizing her Elemental Skill and Charge Attack, Barbara is able to deliver a steady stream of 25k to 35k damage to nearby enemies every three seconds, depending on the specific situation and the type of adversaries.
Team Roles
- Barbara: Main DPS, healer
- Raiden Shogun: Sub-DPS, Electro enabler, Superconduct trigger, battery
- Ganyu: Sub-DPS, Cryo enabler, Superconduct trigger
- Venti: CC, Swirl trigger, battery, debuffer
Genshin Impact can now be played on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. The game is currently being developed for the Switch platform.
