New Free and Craftable Weapons in Genshin Impact 5.0: The recent update of Genshin Impact 5.0 has unveiled all the new craftable weapons, much to the anticipation of the community. This significant patch from developer HoYoverse introduces the region of Natlan, expanding the playable areas within Teyvat. The update marks the beginning of a new year of content, featuring new Archon Quests that center around the Traveler’s journey in the Nation of Pyro. Additionally, players can look forward to three new characters: Mualani, Kachina, and Kinich, along with rerun banners for several popular 5-star units.
The launch of Natlan will introduce an array of additional content for players to explore, including side quests and unique activities. Among this new content will be craftable weapons.
Each region features a selection of weapons that can be created at a blacksmith using specific materials and the corresponding blueprints, and Natlan will follow this pattern. With Version 5.0, players can craft one weapon from each category and are now able to produce multiple copies, potentially allowing them to enhance their base weapon to Refinement Level 5 (R5) in Genshin Impact 5.0.
Free and Craftable Weapons in Genshin Impact 5.0
1. Flute of Ezpitzal
The Flute of Ezpitzal is the first craftable weapon available in the Natlan set. This 4-star sword is designed with a focus on the DEF stat, making it a commendable free-to-play alternative for various characters within the game. While its base ATK stat stands at 454 at level 90, which may not be particularly striking, it is balanced by an impressive DEF sub-stat of 69% at the same level. Furthermore, the weapon’s ability reinforces its alignment with the DEF stat, providing a 16% DEF boost for 15 seconds when the user employs an Elemental Skill in Genshin Impact.
This effect is applicable to R1. At R5, which can be conveniently achieved through repeated crafting and refinement, the DEF bonus from the weapon’s skill increases to 32%. Excluding the event-exclusive Cinnabar Spindle, which some players missed out on, there are no other swords that prioritize DEF, making the Flute of Ezpitzal the leading choice for sword characters that rely heavily on the DEF stat.
2. Footprint of the Rainbow
The recently introduced polearm in the Natlan weapon set, available with Version 5.0, is named Footprint of the Rainbow. This polearm, similar to its predecessor, emphasizes the DEF stat. It provides a standard base ATK stat of 510 at level 90, along with a substantial DEF sub-stat of 51.7% at the same level, which can greatly enhance a character’s capabilities. Notably, Footprint of the Rainbow is considered the optimal weapon for Kachina’s build in Genshin Impact, primarily because it is the sole polearm in the game featuring a DEF sub-stat.
The weapon skill linked to Footprint of the Rainbow bears a different title compared to the skill granted by the Flute of Ezpitzal sword; however, the effects are precisely the same. When the character activates their Elemental Skill, their DEF is augmented by 16% for a period of 15 seconds at refinement level 1 (R1). At refinement level 5 (R5), the DEF enhancement from Footprint of the Rainbow is raised to 32%, maintaining the same duration of 15 seconds.
The DEF sub-stat and DEF-oriented ability of this weapon significantly enhance Yun Jin’s performance, as her Normal Attack DMG bonuses are contingent upon her own DEF. When she activates her Skill and subsequently her Burst, the next character to enter the fray will benefit from an increased damage output when executing Normal Attacks against adversaries. As the inaugural polearm emphasizing DEF, Footprint of the Rainbow is poised to become a fundamental asset for future polearm characters in Genshin Impact that utilize DEF-scaling abilities.
3. Earth Shaker
Earth Shaker is the latest craftable claymore weapon introduced in the Natlan set with the release of Version 5.0. This new 4-star claymore distinguishes itself from earlier weapons by shifting focus away from the DEF stat and emphasizing offensive capabilities. With a base ATK stat of 565 at level 90, it boasts a commendably high value for a 4-star weapon, further enhanced by an ATK sub-stat of 27.6% at level 90. For characters that rely on the ATK stat for their damage output, Earth Shaker is poised to be an exceptional free-to-play weapon in Genshin Impact.
Certainly, the weapon skill of Earth Shaker plays a crucial role in determining its recipient. When a party member activates a Pyro-related Elemental Reaction, the user experiences a 16% increase in Elemental Skill DMG for a duration of eight seconds. This effect can be triggered while the initiating party member is present on the field. If Earth Shaker is at refinement level R5, the bonus to Elemental Skill DMG rises to 32%. Consequently, this new 4-star claymore introduced in Version 5.0 is suitable for Pyro claymore characters such as Diluc or Dehya in Genshin Impact, although its application is not confined to these characters alone.
The ability to activate the effect by any party member implies that Earth Shaker can be utilized by a damage dealer of a different elemental type, such as Kinich or Eula. When the team’s Pyro sub-DPS, like Xiangling, initiates an off-field Pyro reaction with the primary DPS’s elemental type, the primary DPS will receive the benefit of the Elemental Skill damage bonus. For instance, Kinich may experience an increase in damage as he engages an enemy using his grapple hook, while Eula can capitalize on the ongoing Melt reactions present in Genshin Impact.
4. Ring Of Yaxche
The Ring of Yaxche is the new craftable 4-star catalyst introduced from Natlan in Version 5.0. This weapon, akin to others in its category, is centered on granting the user a considerable boost to their HP. Additionally, it confers offensive bonuses that are influenced by the user’s HP. With a base ATK stat of 510 at level 90 and a notable HP sub-stat of 41.3% at the same level, the Ring of Yaxche is particularly advantageous for certain offensive catalyst users, such as Kokomi.
The Ring of Yaxche enhances its weapon proficiency, resulting in increased strength. When the character equipped with this item utilizes an Elemental Skill, they activate the Jade-Forged Crown effect. For every 1,000 Max HP, the user’s Normal Attack damage is augmented by 0.6% for a duration of 10 seconds, capping at 16%. This enhancement applies at refinement level 1. At refinement level 5, the Normal Attack damage bonus escalates to 1% for each 1,000 Max HP over the same 10-second period, reaching a maximum of 32%. Consequently, catalyst DPS characters that depend on Normal Attacks can significantly benefit from the Ring of Yaxche in Genshin Impact.
The weapon in question serves as an excellent choice for Mualani, whose primary rotation involves activating her Elemental Skill and subsequently executing enhanced Normal Attacks on foes. This approach is also advantageous for Kokomi, particularly in damage-oriented builds, which are relatively uncommon. Moreover, Barbara can also take advantage of this weapon, primarily due to the considerable HP enhancements she gains from the new craftable catalyst available in Genshin Impact 5.0’s Natlan region.
5. Chain Breaker in Genshin Impact 5.0
In Version 5.0, the final craftable weapon from the Natlan region is referred to as Chain Breaker. This 4-star bow offers exceptional versatility, making it suitable for various characters, especially in situations where their signature weapons are unavailable. Chain Breaker features a base ATK stat of 565 at level 90, which is quite substantial, along with an ATK sub-stat of 27.6% at level 90 that contributes positively to the damage potential of the character using it. Moreover, the weapon’s ability in Genshin Impact enhances its overall performance.
For each party member from Natlan or with a different elemental type than the user, the character equipping the bow experiences a 4.8% enhancement in ATK. When there are three or more of these characters, the user additionally gains 24 Elemental Mastery. At refinement level 5, the ATK enhancement increases to 9.6%, while the Elemental Mastery bonus escalates to 48 points. This makes Chain Breaker an outstanding choice for offensive archers who can take advantage of Elemental Reactions, particularly those who employ Charged Attacks, like Sethos in Genshin Impact.
Several other characters have the potential to wield Chain Breaker, particularly due to its straightforward R5 and free-to-play availability. This group includes archers such as Lyney, Yoimiya, Venti, and even Ganyu.
