Exciting Developments in Pokémon Go: The Max Out Season Unveiled
After a series of speculations and leaks, Niantic, the developer of Pokémon Go, has officially announced the upcoming season titled “Max Out.” This new season will introduce an array of Generation 8 Pokémon alongside the thrilling new Dynamax feature.
At the onset of this season, players can expect to see the introduction of the Generation 8 Starter Pokémon from Pokémon Sword and Shield. The lineup will include Grookey, a Grass-type monkey, Scorbunny, a Fire-type rabbit, and Sobble, a Water-type amphibian. Additionally, the Dragon-type Dreepy and the unique Stonjourner, which resembles Stonehenge and will serve as a regional exclusive for players in the UK, will also make their debut.
Furthermore, players will have the opportunity to encounter Shiny versions of previously-release Generation 8 Pokémon such as Skwovet and Wooloo.
The Dynamax feature will revolutionize gameplay by providing players with a new way to engage with Pokémon, similar to the introduction of Shadow Pokémon in the past. It is important to note that only the new Pokémon captured during Max Battles and their subsequent evolutions will possess the ability to Dynamax. This mechanic encourages players to actively seek out and collect the latest Pokémon as they become available.
Max Battles will commence with familiar faces including Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Skwovet, and Wooloo, with additional Pokémon planned for later in the season. Interestingly, these battles appear to be designed for newcomers, as there has been no indication of Legendary Dynamax Pokémon being involved—at least for now.
During a media briefing, John Funtanilla from Pokémon Go clarified that Pokémon capable of Mega Evolution will be able to utilize this ability as well, allowing players to capture Dynamax Pokémon that can transform in multiple ways.
In conjunction with the Dynamax feature, Pokémon Go will introduce a new type of location called “Power Spots.” These locations will serve as venues for Max Battles and a hub for collecting a new resource known as Max Particles.
Niantic has promised to provide further insights into the mechanics of Dynamax battles in the near future, so players should remain attentive for upcoming announcements. As of now, there is still no information regarding the potential arrival of Gigantamax Pokémon.
Mark your calendars: the Max Out season of Pokémon Go is set to launch on Tuesday, September 3rd, at 10 AM local time. Get ready for an exhilarating continuation of your Pokémon adventure!
